Yes, I’ve seen it several times. I read the book years before as well, and again after I saw the film.

I agree with most of your analysis of it except for the equating the morality of the mobile infantry with the IDF, or even assuming there’s a single unified faction dictating action in the Israeli government.

It’s the kind of childish thinking a person gets from taking morality lessons from scifi films and Instagram memes instead of studying actual history and current events.

Fiction is great for commentary on specific issues, but not when you try to shoehorn events decades later into the box they left you.
