This opinion is unpopular because it's dumb. Not just regular dumb, but exceptionally dumb, even mind-bogglingly dumb.

Russia is threatened because their way of life is threatened. Specifically, a corrupt, inefficient, and exploitative way of life that only serves a tiny number of people at the expense of a much larger one.

The conclusion to draw is "What Russia is doing is unsustainable and needs to evolve" not "They have the right to invade their neighbors and kill tens of thousands for no justifiable reason."

Again, this is such a bad take it invites speculation that Russia may have even paid for it.
