I generally agree with this article, except that line about Airplane having no references to anything but Zero Hour.
The picture directly beneath it is from the scene referencing Saturday Night Fever.
It also references other contemporary disaster films, notably Airport 75/77, and the casting pulls from the "Straight" disaster films of the era.
Off the top of my head, other references include:
A popular Folgers Crystal Commerical, as well as other contemporary commerical references.
Kareem Abdul Jabbar's Lakers Career
The Wizard of Oz
Pinocchio
Casablanca
Poseidon Adventure
Jaws
Silver Streak
It also has June Cleaver as the woman who speaks "Jive," a sequence referencing the blaxploitation genre.
The after credits scene with the guy in the taxi is Howard Jarvis, the tax revolt leader in CA from the 70's.
The real achievement is that the references are funny on their own, and the context just enhances the humor.
